University of Porto keeps its place among the best in the world

Usually published in August, the Academic Ranking of World Universities once again considers the University of Porto to be one of the 300 best higher education institutions in the world. This has been the case for three consecutive editions.

According to what is also known as the Shanghai Ranking, which evaluates more than 2,500 universities around the world, the University of Porto 'has educational solutions for everyone', with the area of Food Technology and Science once again proving to be the benchmark offer (29th place). The Civil Engineering subject also places the institution among the top 100 in the world.

Also noteworthy were the subjects of Ecology, Agricultural Sciences, Veterinary Sciences, Public Health, and Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, all ranging between 101st and 150th place.

In this Global Ranking of Academic Subjects, the education institution also places six subjects among the top 200 offers: Biomedical Engineering, Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering, Clinical Medicine, Law, and Mechanical Engineering.

The Shagai Ranking places the University of Porto ex aequo with the University of Lisbon, the number one institution in Portugal.

Globally, the ranking is led by the Harvard University, followed by the Stanford University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, all from the USA.
