The New Year is, for three years now, one of the most important events of Porto. Sold out hotels and over 100 thousand people gathering at Avenida dos Aliados, make Porto a special place at the turn of the year.
For those planning to ring in the New Year at an outdoor venue, such as Avenida dos Aliados, the city will be free of precipitation to celebrate the arrival of 2017.
Around 100,000 people are expected to party their way into the New Year at the Concerts in the Aliados featuring incredible live music and entertainment.
From 10:30 pm the highlight will be at Avenida dos Aliados, with a concert hosted by Porto band Blind Zero. Miguel Guedes, the lead singer of Porto band is ready for a spectacular concert and his only fear is that he won't be able to hold tears back.
The countdown of the last minutes of the old year will set the time for the spectacular firework display starting at midnight with many other surprises.
Porto continues to usher in the New Year on 1 January with the New Year's second concert of the evening by Os Azeitonas.
The night of New Year's Eve will be monitored in Porto from the Integrated Management Centre to make sure 2016 is a memorable year.
