A whole night of celebrations throughout the city of Porto

This year for the first time, Porto City Hall will offer live music across three stages throughout the city for those who want to celebrate the New Year in downtown Porto.

Featuring different music styles, the stages will be located at the D. João I Square, in the Gomes Teixeira Square ("Praça dos Leões") and Square Poveiros. As in Avenida dos Aliados, bands will begin playing at 20:30 pm, and will continue until 3:00 am of the first day of 2017.

Farewell to the year that ends and greetings to the New Year will take place from 3 pm on December 31, with a special programme to the youngest, which will include, for example, a children's jam session in Praça dos Poveiros, a workshop of sung tales in Praça D. João I or a workshop on puppetry techniques at Praça dos Leões.

The Radical Batucada (Drumming) will set the pace for the celebration throughout the afternoon, through the three squares of the city.

Celebrate New Year's Eve 2016 at Avenida dos Aliados, where the traditional fireworks will be launched, at the stroke of midnight.

Blind Zero (at 10:00 pm) and Os Azeitonas (at 00:30 am) bands will perform the show of their lives in the city's most spectacular outdoor stage, Avenida dos Aliados.
