For the fourth year running, Filmaporto will award five grants, worth 20,000 euros each, to fund film projects developed in the city of Porto, totalling 100,000 euros. The application stage runs until 6pm on 21 June and the regulations can be consulted on the Filmaporto - film commission website.

The support will be awarded through a call for proposals for fiction, documentary or animation films, series, experimental cinema and essays. As in previous editions, there are two types of funding, aimed at different audiences.

Artists and filmmakers living in the municipality of Porto and production companies based in the municipalities of Porto, Matosinhos or Vila Nova de Gaia, together with artists and filmmakers living in Porto, can apply for the Neves grant.

The Pascaud grant is aimed at artists and filmmakers living outside the municipality of Porto and production companies based in the municipalities of Porto, Matosinhos or Vila Nova de Gaia, together with artists and filmmakers living outside the municipality of Porto.

This year, three Neves grants and two Pascaud grants will be awarded and the applications will be judged by a panel consisting of Luís Urbano (film producer), Melanie Pereira (filmmaker) and Tomás Paula Marques (filmmaker and visual artist).

The grants are named after the first company that presented films to the public in Porto, Neves & Pascaud.

This support programme aims to increase the creation of films produced entirely in Porto and to promote the employability and recruitment of technicians and companies linked to the city's audiovisual sector.

In the previous edition, projects by Tânia Dinis, José Magro, Mariana Caló and Francisco Queimadela, Pedro Lino and Marcelo Pereira were supported.
