The Municipality of Porto was invited to present two projects in the area of Social Cohesion at the annual edition of the Social Affairs Forum, which is taking place in the city of Vantaa, Finland.

In a session presenting good practices in the area of ageing and well-being, those present were introduced to the Porto Age-Friendly City action plan.

As for social innovation, the Social Innovation Laboratory programme, run by the Social Innovation Centre, was brought to light.

The Social Affairs Forum is a platform created by Eurocities, a network of large European cities, with the aim of debating social and political issues related to the well-being of citizens.

The forum provides an opportunity for city representatives to share good practices, discuss common challenges and collaborate in the search for innovative solutions to social issues such as employment, housing, health, education and the integration of vulnerable groups.

It aims to promote the exchange of knowledge and experience between Eurocities members in order to improve the quality of life of urban dwellers in Europe.

The 2024 edition of the Social Affairs Forum, which takes place on 11, 12 and 13 June, has the theme 'Co-creating tomorrow's cities: joining forces for social innovation'.
