Beer diversity takes over Mercado do Bolhão from 16 to 18 May with the first fair entirely dedicated to the drink. With 12 exhibitors, the free event promises a wide selection of national, craft and international beers to satisfy the most diverse palates. The Beer Fair will also provide stand-up comedy.

From traditional to craft labels, the Beer Fair will feature well-known producers in the beer world. Representing the north of Portugal are names such as Gémea, produced in Vila Nova de Gaia; Vadia, from Oliveira das Azeméis; La Rosa, produced on the banks of the Douro River; and even the 'home-made' Going Gremlin and Cervejaria Nortada, from Porto. Even further north, from Carrazedo de Montenegro, a town in Valpaços, comes the award-winning Judia chestnut beer.

Craft beer lovers will also be able to enjoy Esperança's creations straight from Bairrada, with a variety of styles including Weiss, Sour, Weiss Berry and Dunkel Weiss.

As a traditional label, Super Bock will be at Mercado do Bolhão with its 1927 selection and styles such as Munich, Dunkel, Bavaria Weiss and Japanese Rice. The stall of Peixaria Rosa, which is present at the fresh market, is taking to the galleries with the Rainha das Ostras brand, offering Estrella Galicia.

International beer will be represented by stalls such as DCN Beers, with German brands such as Erdinger and Bitburger, and also Vina Food, with Vietnamese Saigon Beer in Export Premium and Special versions.

The Confraria das Tábuas brand will be there with its wooden pieces to accompany the beer tasting.

As entertainment, the Beer Fair will present stand-up comedy by comedian Luís Vieira, scheduled for Friday, 17 May at 5 p.m.

The Beer Fair takes place in the gallery of Mercado do Bolhão from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., ensuring that visitors can enjoy beer even after the fresh market's opening hours.
