Porto sets Clock Tower for midnight countdown

The City Hall Clock Tower is ticking to New Year's countdown in Avenida dos Aliados, as 2016 bids farewell and revellers toast 2017 with blazing fireworks, when the clock strikes 12 on the last day of December.
The Mayor of Porto, Rui Moreira, declared the city is set and ready to welcome everyone who wishes to ring in 2017 in Aliados. There will be concerts, Blind Zero and Os Azeitonas bands to cheer the crowds, three different stages in the city with live music for all tastes, parking spaces at reduced fares so that this is a night to celebrate with friends and family.
The city recommends arriving early to make sure you bag a good spot as the first concert is scheduled for 10:30 pm.
Unprecedented countdown in the city is set to begin at 11:55 pm to wish everyone a "Happy New Year".
