Public transport will run all night long in the evening of São João

Revellers do not need to cut their celebrations short as public transports will run all night. Extra buses, metro and trains from the eve of São João, June 23 until the early hours of June 24th.

If you're travelling in Porto between Friday and Saturday this week, large crowds may affect your journey but extra public transport will suit all needs.

Here follows some travel information:

Porto METRO 

More light rail connections (with the exception of airport connection) from 8 pm Friday onwards.

Yellow line (Hospital of São João/Santo Ovídio):

Extra light rail connections but be reminded that the upper bridge deck of Luís I Bridge will be closed until 4 am, Sunday 24 June.

Blue line (Estádio do Dragão/Senhor de Matosinhos)

Running every ten minutes until 5 am Saturday.

Orange line (Fânzeres/Senhora da Hora)

Running every 10 to 15 minutes until 2 pm.

Green line (Campanhã/ISMAI)

Running every 10 to 15 minutes until 1 am Saturday.

Red line (Estádio do Dragão/Póvoa de Varzim)

Running every 20 minutes until 3 am Saturday.

Purple line (Estádio do Dragão/Airport)

This line, as usual, closes at 1 am. It will resume as customary, Sunday from 6 am onwards.

STCP - Buses 

Extra buses for the evening of São João, June 23rd and all day, 24th June, because it is a public holiday in the city of Porto.

Extra buses that will run: 200, 205, 305, 400, 600, 602, 700, 701, 702, 800 and 801.

Trains: 24 special trains

Travelling downtown Porto by train is also a good option, with a special offer: round trip tickets cost 2 euros.
