Mayor of Porto, Rui Moreira announced that the contract to restore the former Industrial Slaughterhouse entered into force on 18th September. The company in charge of the works is Mota Engil, the Portuguese company that will invest 40 million euros in the municipal equipment, located in the parish of Campanhã.

The commemoration programme of the 1820 Liberal Revolution bicentennial continues, this week, on 24th September, at 9am, with the international conference themed "Dois séculos de constitucionalismo eleitoral em Portugal (1820-2020)" (Two centuries of electoral constitucionalism in Portugal (1820-2020).

The Super Bock Arena - Pavilhão Rosa Mota won the most significant Urban Rehabilitation National Programme 2020 (PNRU), in the "Social Impact Category". The ward giving ceremony of the 8th edition was held at Porto City Hall Council Chambers, last Friday, on 18th September.

Porto Municipal Gallery features two exhibitions that are access free: "Prémio Paulo Cunha e Silva -- 2.nd edition" and "Waves and Whirlpools". Operating hours are from Tuesday to Sunday, between 10am and 6pm.

Porto Customs inaugurated quite the vibrant set of exhibitions, as visitors are presented with the digital immersive experience of the artwork by two renowned world class painters - Klimt and Monet. The exhibit features holograms and 360 degree view projections of paintings by these iconic painters of the first two decades of the 20th century. Entrance is free to children up to five years old.

European Heritage Days are commemorated on 25th, 26th and 27th September all over Europe and Porto is no exception, with an array of activities that provide access to unique sites and monuments. This is that gem opportunity not only to enjoy free visits to rarely visited sites, as they are often closed to the public, but also to know the city's heritage culture.

The Future Female Founders programme aims at supporting women to develop business ideas in the technologies field. This project is promoted by Portuguese Women in Tech and the application deadline is 20th September. Participation in the programme is free. The Future Female Founders goal is to provide women with the means to thrive in the technological ecosystem and establish their own companies and projects. This initiative is supported by ScaleUp Porto via the Convocatória Aberta.

The Faculty of Medicine of the University of Porto (FMUP) is the digital arena of the YES Meeting 15th edition, devoted to the biomedical field of research. The YES Meeting, organised by students of the Faculty of Medicine takes on, for the first time, a digital format and although apart it brings together 650 young researchers and renowned international scientists.

The auditorium at Campo Alegre Theatre premieres the film Yojimbo", on 24th September, under the cinema cycle devoted to the filmography by renowned Japanese director Akira Kurosawa.
