Choose your walking trail in Porto and discover the city while improving your fitness

The motto is "Uma caminhada à descoberta da cidade", which goes like this in English: "A walk to discover the city", and it refers to an initiative by the municipal company Ágora and Runporto to provide five kilometre journeys through Porto each weekend, with journeys at 10am and at 10.30am. The goal is to walk through iconic places in the city while improving one's fitness. The first walk is set for 9th August. It sounds good, right?

Clérigos Tower is open for night tours this August

Up for a night adventure? During August, there are daily visits to Clérigos Tower past sunset, till 9pm (last entrance at 8.30pm). Torre dos Clérigos reopened doors on 30th May, following a two-month lockdown period. All the Covid-19 preventive measures are in place, namely occupancy capacity, mandatory use of face masks and hand sanitation.

Air Transat winter timetable also includes Porto Airport

The Canadian airline Air Transat announced its winter schedule operations, which will start on 1st November. The Canadian airliner will continue to operate the Toronto-Porto route, resumed in the end of July, for the winter timetable.

"Noites do Palácio" are remarkable from every angle

The Black Mamba were as remarkable as you can imagine on stage during the "Noites do Palácio" initiative. This was the second concert included in the programme. Check it out.

Porta-Jazz concert on 9 August, 7pm: be there!

The Porta-Jazz new initiative themed "Quintal Porta-Jazz", where the stage is brought outside, features one last concert, on 9th August, at 7pm.

Cultura em Expansão is back in September with new access rules

The "Cultura em Expansão" is back this September, with a new calendar of activities that features 38 performances till the end of the year. Also, there are new rules to comply with.

Porto is on its way to being a bike friendly city

The Municipality of Porto wants to develop another 35km of cycle routes in the city to reach 50km of bike paths by the end of 2020. Currently, the network of cycleway is circa 15km, but the goal is to extend to another 35km to meet the express aim of regaining the public space as announced by the Mayor of Porto, Rui Moreira, in the end of May.

French Invasions remains found in Porto Historic centre

The restoration works in a building located at the Rua de S. Miguel enabled the finding of 13 skeletons of French soldiers, who would be part of the Soult army, more than 200 years ago, during the Napoleonic Invasions.

Quinta do Covelo will have a 3800 sq. m outdoor playground for dogs

The building of the dog playground at Quinta do Covelo kicks off on 3rd August. The dog park equipment will have two different areas, amounting to approximately 3800 sq. m, one for large breed dogs and another one for small breed dogs.
