Researchers worldwide address Children and Adolescents Care

Porto Customs Congress Centre will host the XV EUSARF International Conference, which runs from 2 till 5 October. EUSARF stands for European Scientific Association on Residential & Family Care for Children and Adolescents and it gathers researchers on child welfare and protection. EUSARF works voluntarily and disseminates knowledge in the field of child care.

Gallery owner from Porto is in Europe's top 40 list

The Apollo International Art Magazine has included, for the first time, a Portuguese marchand in the list of the 40 best cultural players in Europe. The gallery owner, from Porto, was selected for the under 40 category. Nuno Centeno was awarded at The Wallace Collection, in London.

Porto-Nagasaki celebrate town-twinning anniversary calling for nuclear disarmament

In the framework of the forty years of twinning, Porto and Nagasaki have created a store of relationships based on the values of friendship and cooperation. Porto City Hall, jointly with Nagasaki City Hall, have organised a display on the topic "A- Bomb Exhibition, Hiroshima and Nagasaki" to commemorate this long-standing and fruitful relationship.

Porto Municipal Gallery opens Curveball Memory

Porto Municipal Gallery opens the exhibit ""Curveball Memory", on 6 October. The exhibition is curated by Sofia Lemos, and it is the most significant exhibit developed in Portugal by the "Musa paradisíaca" artistic project created in 2010 by Eduardo Guerra and Miguel Ferrão.

Adão da Fonseca is the winner of 2018 Civil Engineering Excellence Awards

One of the most prestigious awards in the construction engineering area, the 2018 Civil Engineering Excellence Award, was given to Adão da Fonseca, former Professor at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto (FEUP), in recognition for "his outstanding projects towards the common good" as well as for "his professional career as a civil engineer to the benefit of society".

Anti-racist Film Festival screened at Rivoli

The MICAR - International Anti-Racist Film Festival, takes place from 4 to 7 October at Rivoli. Fifty years after May 68, the iconic date for social and civil rights fights, this film show provides ethnic minorities a platform to voice their struggles and challenges, all around the globe.

The Golden Dragon now lives at Porto City Hall

The "Dragão de Ouro" ["Golden Dragon", free translation] in the "Partner of the year" category was awarded to Porto City Hall, last Saturday, 29 September, during the 31st Futebol Clube do Porto Gala, which took place at Coliseu Porto Ageas.
