The Rivoli Theatre features "Os Pescadores" by João Sousa Cardoso. "Technique is fantastic, but only if it is seen glancing at the primordial" says the director.

From this resort to Raul Brandão's similarly named work from 1923 and a 28 days' journey on the high seas originated this play that is a theatrical work. It is a manifesto about what we live, about the domain of technoscience.

This play works over complex narratives and codes of representation, namely the notions of masculinity and gender, of work and sacrifice, of eros and economy of death, in a harsh dialogue as life at sea can be.

"Os Pescadores" 17th and 19th November at 9.30 p.m., 18th November at 7 p.m. at Isabel Alves Costa Auditorium, Teatro Rivoli.
