"safe!n porto" label charts nightlife good practice standards

If you come across the label "safe!n porto" in shop Windows of different stores all around town, know that those settings were awarded the good practices label regarding Porto's nightlife aka Movida.

This project is targeted at promoting a safer nightlife, by implementing a variety of strategies dealing with noise, urban cleanliness and sociability.

Also, informative guides are being handed out to better inform on the harm and risk reduction strategies in the nightlife scene.

Ana Almeida, the Director of Movida has visited the nightlife professionals and stakeholders and has handed the "safe!n porto" label to certify the existing standards for Safer Nightlife.

Customers will know that place is acknowledged for its good practices implementation regarding Porto's nightlife.

The label is only awarded to stakeholders that have completed the entire certification process, in the framework of the project launched by Porto City Hall in 2016, based on European guidelines.

The certification was granted in 2017, and now the Director of Movida is in situ to raise awareness on the impact that nightlife has in Porto. The Movida/Nightlife brochures contain a number of positive recommendations for strengthening the city's Movida strategies, namely useful tips (police, hospital), transport (buses, Metro, train), hygiene and a responsible consumption of alcoholic beverages.

As the brochure goes "Our Porto, Your Home", "this guide will let you in the best day and night versions of the city of Porto".

The "safe!n porto" label was awarded to the following settings:

- Gulden Draak;

- Fabrik;

- Twenties;

- Alma;

- Era Uma Vez em Paris;

- Era Uma Vez no Porto;

- Bar das Galerias de Paris;

- Honorato;

- Garrafeira Carmim.
