Contemporary dance choreographer, Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker joined Salva Sanchis and they have created "A Love Supreme", based on John Coltrane's critically acclaimed self-titled album.

Both choreographers share the same iconic fascination by music, and with "Love Supreme", the inherent improvisation is extended to dance.

This new version, rewritten in 2005, is prepared for four dancers, to the sound of Coltrane's Jazz and new choreographic languages.

Keersmaeker was drawn to Coltrane's album because although there is improvisation, the music also carries a kind of structure.

In this new version of the performance, each of the four dancers (José Paulo dos Santos, Bilal El Had, Jason Respilieux and Thomas Vantuycom) takes on the role of the quartet musicians.

The show will be on stage in Porto, at Theatre Rivoli, on 1 and 2 November.
