Porto City Hall joins other 230 organisations that have joined the initiative "Liceu a la Fresca", rebroadcasting outdoors and in a giant screen one of Giacomo Puccini's most successful work, the opera "Manon Lescaut".

The broadcasting is scheduled for Saturday, starting at 10.15 pm, at the Amor de Perdição Square, in Cordoaria, next to the Portuguese Photography Centre. Access is free.

The project "Liceu a la Fresca" started in 2007 by the Grand Teatre del Liceu de Barcelona with the fundamental goal of bringing classical music and opera to a range of different audiences, in several cities in Spain, Portugal and Italy alike.

This project also presents a strong pedagogical and informal educational experience, enabling people to enjoy good opera and help combat cultural prejudices associated with this music genre.

Take the opportunity to experience an up-close and personal visual experience with epic music and universal feelings or as Richard Wagner often put it, living opera "as a synthesis of the arts".

Liceu a la Fresca is promoted by the Gran Teatre del Liceu, supported by BPI and the Foundation "laCaixa".
