AquaPorto, one of the most important events on water and science at national level, will be held from 28 to 30 September, at the City Park.

The motto "Pelo Planeta, Mãos à Água" ["For the Planet, Let's get to Water", free translation] encompasses the theme for this 5th initiative related to climate change, regarded as one of the major environmental problems in the 21st century.

The activities programme includes more than 80 scientific, pedagogical and recreational experiences and over 25 thousand people are expected to attend the event.

All events are free of charge and children and grown-ups alike are invited to take part in fun educational activities on the importance of water, with scientists and the audience interacting towards knowledge sharing.

The main goal of such programmes is to raise awareness on environmental issues.

All developed activities focus on water resources preservation, biodiversity protection, energy efficiency stimulation and the promotion of renewable energies, so as to boost sustainable mobility, foster the circular economy, re-using and recycling waste, and encourage people to adopt sustainable and healthy lifestyles.

AquaPorto is organised by Porto City Hall, via Águas do Porto, jointly with PortoLazer and the Universities, R&D centres, Government entities, municipalities, water management authorities, environmental education centres, foundations and associations, among other.
