Best practices from Porto regarding urban sustainability

Adopting sound environmental practices offers an opportunity to stimulate responsible behaviours while keeping the quality of events in focus.

The NOS Primavera Sound Festival and the "Noites da Queima das Fitas do Porto" were awarded the label "Sê-lo Verde" [Green Label, free translation], aimed at acknowledging best practices in such events as music festivals.

The second edition of this award has been presented by the Minister for Environmental Protection and Energy Efficiency.

The award fits in the category B (over 25 000 attendees), and the NOS Primavera Sound festival excelled in the field of education, whilst "Noites da Queima" stood out in the Resources area due to the implementation of the "ReCycling Water" best practice.

This "Sê-lo Verde" award is aimed at promoting the implementation of best practices and finding solutions that lead to an efficient energy use as well as environment impact mitigation measures.
