China and Porto develop effective cooperation

Institutional relations between China and Porto were never before as close as they are now, enhancing Exchange opportunities in different areas.
Less than a month on from the visit of the Mayor of the city of Porto to China, Porto City Hall welcomed an important delegation from China. 

The importance of strengthening co-operation between Porto and China, in the context of the economical, scientific and technological development was the primary goal of this Chinese delegation in Porto, led by You Quan, a key figure within the Chinese Communist Party Central Committee.

Besides Rui Moreira, You Quan also met the President of the Republic, the leaders of the country's main political parties.
The increasing interest regarding Porto happens in the framework of an exchange process between Porto and China that has been ongoing in recent times. 

Mayor Rui Moreira visited China last month, in June, in the context of the celebration of The Day of Portugal and Camões.
That official visit has enhanced the city's close relations both with Beijing and Shanghai.
