The magic of cinema is back to Casa da Música from 10 to 19 February, featuring four "not to miss" concert films.

On 10 February, The programme that the Portuguese Symphonic Band brings to the Invicta.Música.Filmes festival, at Casa da Musica, honours emblematic soundtracks in the history of cinema. Francisco Ferreira will conduct a concert to recall soundtracks by Zimmer, Peeters, Pina and Boublil/Schönberg, in films such as The Pirates of the Caribbean, The Ghost Ship, Miss Saigon, or the Madame Butterfly Opera.

Also, on 12 February, Casa da Música features the film "The Golden Age" or "Age of Gold" (L'Age d'Or in French), with a live performance by the percussion group Drumming. It is scheduled to start at 7.30 pm, at Sala Suggia.

The 1930 French surrealist satirical comedy film directed by Luis Buñuel dwells on the absurdities of modern life, the duplicity of the sexual behaviours of bourgeois society and the moral standards of the Roman Catholic Church. This was one of the first sound films made in France.

Charles Chaplin and Buster Keaton will delight children and adults alike, on 16 February, at 4 pm, in Sala 2, at Casa da Música with the screening of the soundtrack of several Chaplin and Keaton's films, namely "Bang on a Can", performed by Remix.

At the same time, but in Sala Suggia, the Casa da Música features the silent film "The Gold Rush", by Charlie Chaplin. The year 2019 marks the 130th anniversary of Charles Chaplin and the classic silent comedy, "The Gold Rush" featuring Charles Chaplin as Little Tramp, who heads north to join in the Klondike gold rush. This will be a session-only, screened at Sala Suggia. The film's soundtrack will be performed live by the Symphony Orchestra.
