Eurowings operates Munich - Porto from April 2017

Eurowings is a German low-cost carrier headquartered in Düsseldorf and a fully owned subsidiary of the Lufthansa Group. The airliner offers Munich - Porto route, following the announcement of Dusseldorf - Porto route. Flights can be booked from April 2017.

Eurowings, former Germanwings was formed in 2002 to carry out short-haul operations within Lufthansa network. Ten years later it has gone through a major transformation and incorporated all domestic and European routes on behalf of Lufthansa outside Frankfurt and Munich Airports.

The Eurowings fleet consists of 71 airplanes and flies to over 100 different destinations. Lufthansa, which for several years has been providing a real airlift between Porto and its main hub (Frankfurt), will serve Porto - Munich destination starting April 2017 with low-cost flights. Germanwings was rebranded to Eurowings and are owned by Lufthansa.

Porto Airport strengthens its air service route to one of the most important airports in central Europe after news that Air France and KLM will fly Porto to Paris (Charles de Gaulle) and Amsterdam.
