Speakers and experts of museums, the Academia and sports institutions, foreign and domestic will meet in Porto on 26 October to debate the importance of sport heritage.

The International conference "Sports Heritage Collection" is organised by the Museum of FCP and gathers representatives of the Catholic University, the National Museums of Football of Germany and England, the FC Barcelona, and the Liverpool FC, just to name a few, for reviewing and discussing information on sport collections and their role in History.

This conference is participation free but subject to room capacity and it is the perfect opportunity for experts to share ideas on the place of Sport in the Collective Heritage.

It is worth mentioning that FCP, the host to this event, celebrates 125 years since its establishment as well as the 5th anniversary of the FC Porto Museum.

Throughout this Friday, the invitees include Carla Felizardo (Preservation and Restoration Centre of the Catholic University), Tim Desmond (National Football Museum of England), Malte Von Pidoll (National Football Museum of Germany), Jordi Penas i Babot (Museum Barcelona/FC Barcelona), Stephen Done (Liverpool Story /Liverpool FC) and Susan Rees (Qatar Olympic and Sports Museum), and many other guest speakers.

The conference "Sports Heritage Collection" enhances the commitment of the Museum FC Porto towards the preservation, sharing and debate of sport memory.

The Museum FC Porto is a member of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), also of the Portuguese Association of Museology (APOM) and of the International Council of Museums.
