It's been 29 years that FIMP- the International Puppet Show of Porto sets the standard internationally when it comes to the puppet art world. This edition is no exception. FIMP programme includes troupes from Portugal, Spain, France and Canada.

The eight-day event, which runs from 13 to 20 October, at Porto Municipal Theatre, National Theatre São João, Carlos Alberto Theatre, the Theatre de Ferro, at the parish of Ramalde and the Metro Station of Trindade, features free activities, street shows and exhibitions.

It should be highlighted that due to the support by Porto City Hall, the entire FIMP is now economically viable, as state subsidies have been cancelled.

FIMP 2018 will both celebrate the future and revisit the past, showcasing traditional techniques of this ancient art", as stated by artistic director Igor Gandra.

Also, the winner of the 3rd edition of the Bolsa de Criação Isabel Alves Costa, a joint initiative of FIMP, Teatro Municipal do Porto and Comédias do Minho, will be announced.

Everyone is welcome as FIMP "takes accessibility very seriously".

Teatro de Marionetas do Porto was created in September 1988, the same date in which the company was present at the official selection of the Festival Mondial des Théâtres de Marionnettes, in Charleville-Mézières.
