Frida Kahlo's unseen photos on show in Porto as of July 6

The famous Mexican painter Frida Kahlo had also a fling for photography. That is not at all surprising as her parents and grandparent were professional photographers.

Recently found photos of Frida Kahlo's most intimate and private moments will be on show at the Portuguese Photography Centre, in Porto. Since they were first made public, in Mexico City, in 2009, the exhibit has been touring the entire world and already accounts for over half a million visitors in fifteen different cities.

The exhibit is themed "Frida Kahlo - As Suas Fotografias" [Frida Kahlo - Her photographs" (free translation)] and is an account of the artist's private life.

More than half a million visitors in fifteen different cities have visited this exhibit, which has been touring the entire world, Since they were first made public, in Mexico City, in 2009.

Now in Porto, the exhibit will be on show from 6 July to 4 November 2018, at the Portuguese Photography Centre.

Under the guidance of Hilda Trujillo Soto, Director of the Frida Kahlo Museum, and curated by Pablo Ortiz Monasterio, famous Mexican photographer and photo historian, the exhibit is divided in six thematic sections, namely, Origins; Casa Azul; Politics; Revolutions and Diego; Injured Body; Loves; and Photography, and it also includes a documentary on Frida Kahlo's life.

Part of the revenue from the ticket office goes to the "Associação Salvador", which supports people with motor disabilities.
