Future stars of the Qatari swimming team checked in FADEUP for a check-up visit

A team of six young swimmers from Qatar recently visited the Sports Faculty of the University of Porto (FADEUP), under a partnership between the Biomechanics Lab of Porto (LABIOMEP-UP) and the Qatar Swimming Association.

The future stars of the Qatari swimming team were subject to a detailed performance assessment, namely the physiological profile, anthropometric evaluation, biomechanics of swimming, fatigue index, swimming technique, inter alia. All these tests were performed in the water.

This partnership illustrates the prestige and international leadership of the FADEUP and LABIOMEP-UP research groups in the fields of Biomechanics and Medicine in Swimming. Also, the partnership should be extended to other swimmers in Qatar, namely the Juniors Class.
