Holiday Season invite for a different Sunday at House-Museum Marta Ortigão Sampaio

"A chegada do sol" ["The coming of the Sun", free translation] is the topic for a different outing, on July 1st at House-Museum Marta Ortigão Sampaio (CMMOS), now that summer is officially in town.

This event is participation free and the programme offers the enjoyment of the Museums' gardens, available for snacks even, a visit to the short exhibition featuring three works related to the topic of the day. Thus, the invite is to discover the sun, the light and the beach in the works of the museum.

Tuneful and dulcet music will spring from the gardens, where visitors are invited to take a picnic.

Museology expert, Isabel Andrade Silva, will guide the tour to the works on show at the Museum, at 3 pm, namely: "Sol" (gilded woodcarving piece), 1st floor; "Muro rosa" (painting), by Carlos Reis, 1st floor, living room; and "Praia" (painting), by Sousa Pinto, 1st floor, living room.

Next, the "As festas de verão no Porto" ["Summer parties in Porto"] are presented at the Museum's library, at 3.30 pm.

The tour in the gardens will start at 4 pm, to the sound of Rés-da-Rua Vocal Group. After this visit, it is time to enjoy one's own picnic moment.
