The IndieJúnior Allianz Film Festival third edition happens in Porto from 29 January to 3 February. The novelty for this year's child and juvenile festival is the "Cinema de Colo" sessions ["Lap Child Cinema", free translation]. There will be four sessions devoted to this younger audience, scheduled for 2 and 3 February, at 10 am and at 10.45 am, at Rivoli.

The main purpose of such novelty is to bring children closer to discovering the magic of cinema. Each session takes about 25 minutes and everything is set out to be kid-friendly, from a careful selection of appropriate movies to an appropriate space, and lights dimmed halfway, in a snug and comfortable atmosphere.

Animation films about animals are the preferred ones as they fit the bill when it comes to children's best friends. Stimulating colours and sounds are brought by the most surprising stories, in a place where kids can react safely and partake a memorable discover experience with their parents.

Entrance is free up to room capacity.

Marta Silva, scenography teacher and coordinator at ESMAE - School of Arts and Music of Porto, will be in charge of the stage design. Marta has turned the Small Auditorium at Rivoli in a friendly place ready to host both parents and toddlers as the latter first interact with the big screen, helping to make the strange familiar, by widening the children's experience and enabling the learning of film language, exploring shapes, colours and feelings.

The third edition of IndieJúnior Allianz Film Festival takes place at Rivoli and at the Municipal Library Almeida Garrett, as usual, but this year it will travel to Casa das Artes and at the Rectory of Porto University.

For six days, from 29 January to 3 February, Porto hosts IndieJúnior Allianz Film Festival featuring around 50 films, targeted at children and juveniles, alongside their respective families, schools and general public.

The full programming will be announced shortly.
