International Folklore Festival is back in Porto from 21 to 29 July

The International Folklore Festival City of Porto is now in its thirty-eight edition. For nine days in July, from 21st to 29th July, more than 250 participants, from groups that showcase the heritage and culture of eight different countries will perform in locations such as Trindade Metro Station, Quinta de São Romão, the Social Centre of Sé, the Garden of Arca d'Água or the Gomes Teixeira Square.

The highlight of the festival are the two performances at Gomes Teixeira Square (in front of the Rectory), scheduled for 27th and 28th July, at 9.30 pm.

In the first evening, on 27th July, groups from Italy, Slovakia and Russia take to the stage, whilst in the second night performance, on 28th July, participants from Spain, Georgia, France, Mexico and Portugal showcase their traditional dances.

Also, on Saturday, 28th July, all participants will parade through some city streets, departing from Batalha Square at 3 pm, and touring Santa Catarina Street.

This event is organised by the Folk Dance Group of Paranhos, and sponsored by Porto City Hall, through its Municipal Company PortoLazer.
