KISMIF Conference is back in Porto to debate gender, differences, identities and DIY cultures

The fourth edition of the "Keep It Simple, Make It Fast" (KISMIF) Congress is back in Porto from 3 till 7 July.
This KISMIF edition is titled "Gender, Differences, Identities and DIY Cultures" and it comprises conferences, concerts and exhibitions "focused on gender and difference", declared Paula Guerra, event organiser, to Lusa. 

The kick-off happens on Tuesday, July 3rd at Porto Planetarium with the participation of Mary Forgaty, Michael MacDonald and Claire Hodgson, who will debate specific issues such as ethnographic cinema, the importance of dance and how to build a festival.

The exhibition "Liberta-te/Free Yourself", by Teresa Milheiro, opens at the Palacete dos Viscondes Balsemão, at 2.30 pm. This is the first exhibition in a total of nine that will take place during the event.

Conferences start on 4th July at Casa da Música, featuring Helen Reddington and the duo Ana da Silva and Gina Birch, from The Raincoats. Following the launch of Jenn Penny's book on the band, they will perform a show case.

Later that day, at 11 pm, Rivoli plays host to the performance "Vítor Rua Interpreta Telectu", a multimedia show by Vítor Rua.

About 350 people are expected to participate in this international congress, which will run in Porto till 7 July.
