Porto's LGBTI+ Pride March is returning to the streets of Porto next Saturday, 29 June.

The 19th edition of the initiative begins at Praça da República at 3 p.m. and is expected to end at 7 p.m., at Largo Amor de Perdição, where the Arraial + Orgulhoso do Porto festivities will take place, as the Organising Committee of the Porto Pride March (COMOP) 2024 told Lusa.

The march will take place under the slogan 'De Cravo na Mão, porque somos liberdade e revolução!' (holding a carnation because we are freedom and revolution), with the committee arguing that the 'revolutionary spirit is more necessary than ever', especially when celebrating the 50th anniversary of the 25 April 1974 revolution.

Porto's LGBTI+ Pride March is made up of 22 groups and associations from the city who work voluntarily to combat discrimination against the community, the organisation said.

Due to the event, there will be temporary traffic restrictions along the path of the march and in some adjacent streets.
