Porto was once again present at Urban Future, the international forum dedicated to sustainable urban development and the future of cities. Taking place this year in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, the event seeks to bring together visionary leaders, innovators and experts from around the world to discuss and explore solutions to the urban challenges of the 21st century.

Over the course of three days, dozens of sessions and workshops allowed for the exchange of knowledge and experience in five major areas: climate adaptation, building sustainable cities, social aspects of change, leadership and personal growth, and citychanger skills.

This edition brought to Rotterdam 250 speakers, 180 Mayors and city representatives, and a hundred partners. Also travelling from the Invicta were representatives of Greater Porto, the platform created by the municipalities of Porto, Vila Nova de Gaia and Matosinhos to attract investment to the region.

The event was an opportunity to promote the region to an international audience and to explore different areas of sustainability: from urban planning to architecture, from mobility to energy.

It's worth remembering that in Sweden, in 2022, one of the speakers at Urban Future was the Mayor of Porto, with Rui Moreira giving the example of the intervention in Matadouro, (old slaughterhouse) in a talk on 'How to lead change in your city'.
