Non-food markets and fairs are to reopen in Porto, starting on 19th June, with all pandemic control measures. All these measures are encompassed in a Manual of Procedures, disseminated by the Municipality of Porto to all traders.

Find out what markets and fairs you can visit this weekend and support local trade, always complying with pandemic control measures.

Sellers can go back to the Crafts Fair (in Santo Ildefonso Street), to the Crafts Market of Porto (in Parada Leitão Square), to the Mercadinho da Ribeira (in Cais da Ribeira); the Philately, Numismatic and Collecting Market (in D. João I Square); the Feira dos Passarinhos (in Alameda das Fontainhas); the Antiques and collecting Fair (in Dr. Francisco de Sá Carneiro Square, aka Praça Velasquez), promoted by Porto City Hall.

Regarding urban markets, organised by private entities, the Sensations Market is back, and also the Mercado da Alegria, the Mercado da Terra, the Urban Market, also the Mercadinho dos Clérigos, the Família Sai à Rua, and the Portobelo and the Pink Market as well.

This reopening of markets and fairs leaves for the 4th September the opening of the Pasteleira, Vandoma and Cerco Fairs, which are municipally organised fairs. The promoters of both Market Place and Flea Market can only be scheduled starting on that date.

The main goal is to preserve everyone's safety and to that end, Porto City Hall has prepared a Manual of Procedures to help traders and sellers better cope with the necessary control measures to tackle the pandemic; this manual features sanitation, organisation and logistics measures, also social distancing rules, the compliance with the mandatory rule of wearing Personal Protective Equipment, both by traders and buyers.

The Municipality of Porto will monitor markets and fairs to make sure pandemic control rules are in place and to help minimize contagion.
