Porto hosts the Next Generation Internet Forum in September

Technology specialists, government agents, activists and researchers will gather at the Customs Building in Porto, on 13th September, in the context of the Next Generation Internet (NGI) Forum.

  

Other than money, what makes the world go round today is information, be it created, distributed or manipulated. Also, the tools to doing so are telecommunications and computers. 

The forging of the world of tomorrow must include the best internet innovators in Europe on board, as the next generation internet will empower users with choices and control on the use of their data.

The drive is a sustainable and continued growth, both economic and cultural. And the internet is key towards the most efficient and successful society of information.

In this regards, the city of Porto is continually investing on technological infrastructure and digital platforms which enable the most efficient and successful solutions to meet citizens and businesses specific needs.

Aware of the significant role of the internet in shaping the cities of the future, Porto hosts the Next Generation Internet Forum, promoted by NGI (Next Generation Internet), aimed at developing a human-centric internet, empowering individuals and boosting a European digital leadership.

The NGI Forum will be the perfect opportunity to networking and knowledge sharing with leading specialists in a number of fields, namely privacy and trust, decentralised data governance, discovery and identification, artificial intelligence, just to name a few.

This event is participation free, but prior registration is mandatory and it is subject to seat capacity.
