"Porto is a magnet for investment", said Ricardo Valente, Porto City Hall Councillor for Economy, Tourism and Trade, during the Meet Up event, on 25 September, organised by Iberian Property at Palacete dos Viscondes de Balsemão, in Porto.

This statement also highlights the notorious momentum the city of Porto is experiencing, as a "more competitive destination, better placed in the international radar not only regarding tourism but also international investors".

Valente pinpointed Natixis, a French company that choose Porto over Madrid, to settle IT offices.

Besides promoting the destination Porto, Porto City Hall continues to bet on establishing new poles of attractiveness in the city, namely in the eastern part of town. Campanhã and Bonfim will benefit from the renovation and rebuilding of the Intermodal platform of Campanhã and the former slaughterhouse of Porto. The first is funded by Porto City Hall and the latter is funded by private investors.

The exploiting of synergies among public and private sectors has enabled this desirable development path in the city of Porto, which is boosted by tourism, alongside urban rehabilitation.
