The exhibition "UNESCO Green Citizens: Pioneiros da Mudança" [UNESCO Green Citizens: Pioneers of Change", free translation] will be on display at the Biodiversity Gallery, in the Botanical Garden in Porto. The exhibit will be on show from 25th September till 6th January 2019.

This is a free admission event.

UNESCO Green Citizens programme aims at promoting actions that boost a sustainable way of living. Therefore, this UNESCO international exhibit delivers an online platform so that people can share best practices and significant experiences.

This is a multimedia travelling exhibition, which is the result of a partnership between UNESCO, the Sipa Press Agency and Klorane Botanical Foundation.

The exhibit gathers 25 people, who take part in educational programmes worldwide, with the fundamental goal of passing on expertise that might help answer the planet's current needs in a sustainable manner, without jeopardising the future of our planet. These are the green citizens, inter alia, pioneers of change.

"To educate for the sustainable development means to promote a sustainable use of resources, which will narrow climate change, reduce the risk of natural disasters, enhance cultural diversity, gender equality and health systems, lessen poverty situations, increase biodiversity and strengthen peace", as stated by UNESCO.

Japan, Senegal, Vanuatu, India, Brazil, Morocco, USA, Egypt, Nicaragua, France and Portugal are the countries represented in this exhibition.
