The city of Porto hosts the 2018 edition of Porto Photo Festival from 13 to 21 October.
The world's top photography influencers will head to Porto to present workshops on what makes a professional photographer thrive.

For nine days, the festival's programme includes workshops, masterclasses, portfolio reviews, photography film screening, Influencer days and exhibitions.

These are life-changing workshops and attendants can expect the best of the best to educate them on the craft of photography, namely teaching technical and creative skills.

The 2018 Porto Photo Fest features renowned photographers such as João Carlos, Sara Lando, David Nightingale and Silvia Bifaro, among others.

David Nightingale, renowned Fuji-x UK photographer will deliver the "Shoot the Street" workshop in Porto, on 20th October. Aspiring photographers will take part in a one and a half day hands-on workshop, stroll through the streets of Porto, head to the temporary setting of the Bolhão Market where they will capture portraits of the life and emotions of market owners, interact with the crowd, and capture the heart of the city.

Workshops are limited to 15 participants to ensure maximum quality. The images of the students will be published on social media and in their own portfolios.

"I created this festival to empower and educate people so that they can improve and achieve goals they never knew were possible. This year's photographers are not just world-class photographers, but world class educators. Making it an experience that will change how you work- forever. I can't wait to meet you to see your life-changing moments", states Anna Gunn, Festival Director.

The exhibition for the 2018 edition of Porto Photo Fest is themed "womenSEEwomen", and it will be held in partnership with "Photos de Femmes" Festival in France.

This exhibit will be open and free to the public in the Centro Português de Fotografia, during the festival.

Other free events are the pre-festival presentation by Charles O'Rear, whose image "Bliss" (the default wallpaper on Windows XP) holds the title for the most viewed photo in history, a masterclass and film screening by Emre Küheylan, and the round table discussion on the topic "Women in Photography".

This year's Porto Photo Fest is sponsored by Porto City Hall, the Portuguese Photography Centre, Cooperativa Árvore, "Photos De Femmes" Festival, The Portuguese Photography Centre, and Árvore - Professional and artistic School.
