Porto received two Honourable Mentions at the Access Culture Prize 2018, whose fundamental goal is to promote access - physical, social and intellectual - to culture venues and to the cultural offer.

The collective PELE - Space of Social and Cultural Interaction, and the Puppet Museum of Porto were awarded an Honourable Mention by the jury.

According to the Access Culture Prize 2018 jury, "the work carried out by the collective PELE is inspiring as it shows a coherent effort towards eliminating social barriers, regardless of the type of barrier".

Furthermore, the jury highlights that in the "Isolation or Social Alienation" categories, PELE focus on the principles of proximity, valuing the others, those around us, thus being awarded in the Social Accessibility category.

The Puppet Museum of Porto was distinguished in the Physical Accessibility Category.

The Access Culture Award 2018 took place at Casa Fernando Pessoa, in Lisbon.
