The University of Porto will host the best IT university students in the world, who will compete for the title of world champion.
The International Collegiate Programming Contest is the largest and the oldest IT programming competition in the world, and it will gather 1500 IT students in Porto, from 31 March to 4 April 2019.

After more than 400 qualifiers held worldwide, in which over 50 thousand students have participated, from more than 3000 universities, from 111 countries, the final will take place at the Customs Building of Porto.

We are looking at ten programming challenges, based on real life scenarios, where the best teams of the world will only rely on a single computer and a time limit to work out the solution.

This competition will extend for several days, and the team that solves as many problems as possible in the minimum number of attempts, in the shortest time possible, will be declared World Champion.

In 2018, this event was organised by the University of Beijing, and the State University of Moscow was awarded the title of World Champion.

The International Collegiate Programming Contest finals are viewed by thousands of people through the internet, thus the city of Porto will be the world capital of computer programming in 2019.

Porto City Hall and the North Regional Coordination and Development Commission will support the University of Porto in the organisation of the 43rd edition of the International Collegiate Programming Contest world final.
