Praia Internacional hosts surf events in October

If you are on the lookout for surf excitement, why not head up to Porto & Matosinhos Wave Series, at Praia Internacional, with four competitions scheduled for 5 October.

The CA Open & Masters Cup kicks off the surf event, followed by three other competitions for this month of October.

The most experienced surfers will compete on 5 October, on four categories, namely, Female, Male and Masters (over 35) and Kahuna (over 45).

This is also a great opportunity to clear your mind and improve your health, as surfing is more than just a fun way to pass the time, it brings incredible benefits, such as reducing stress by giving you a sense of belonging, self-worth and confidence. And let's not forget about vitamin D!

Saturday and Sunday is the national competition for the younger age, the AON Groms Trophy. More than 60 athletes are expected to come. The competition is divided in five categories: of Under- 12 athletes, Under-14 athletes, Under-16 athletes, Under-18 male athletes and of Under-18 female athletes.

There will be a recreational and leisure area on site, with inflatables, air bungee, as well as a food area and health screening programmes.

This event is organised by Onda Pura, in partnership with the Municipalities of Porto and Matosinhos.

Participation costs are 10 euros and all athletes must have a Sports Insurance or be registered as athlete member of the Portuguese Surf Federation.

AON Groms Trophy: registrations are open till 6 pm on 5 October. Participation cost per category is 10 euros.
