Rui Moreira showed in Moscow why Porto is an arena for big events

The Mayor of Porto is one of the invited speakers to the MUF - Moscow Urban Forum taking place in the Russian capital, from 17 to 22 July.

Rui Moreira addressed the topic "Capital of Impressions. Events as a Driver of Urban Economy" and presented Porto's experience regarding creativity and investments.

Megacities all around the world have to keep up with change in this new era, where everything is determined by the quality of human capital. This is the topic umbrella on the agenda for the MUF 2018 Forum.

Also on 18th July, the Mayor of Porto delivers the lecture "First Among Equals. Culture as the Basis of the Future Economy". Rui Moreira will lecture on creative industries, the challenge of strengthening local capacity as a means to boost economic and social sustainable growth.

This forum brings together representatives of city administrations of Russia and the world, namely urban planners, developers, heads of financial companies, investors, technological startups, media representatives and commoners.

The participation of Rui Moreira in this international forum in Moscow marks the growing prominence of the city of Porto on the world stage, as a seminal model of a sustainable city that takes culture as a pillar and showcases Porto as an important destination for big events.
