Ryanair's CEO, Michael O'Leary announced, in a Press Conference held in Porto, that the airline would add new routes from Porto for the winter schedule 2017/2018 and that the company will operate a new route to Naples, starting this summer, flying twice a week to Naples.

This operation is creating more than three thousand jobs in Porto, according to an ACI survey (Airports Council International). An average of 750 new jobs are created at international airports for every million passengers processed.

A total of 10 routes will be extended for the winter schedule with two weekly flights to Carcassonne, Clermont, Lille, Strasbourg and Lorient (France), Copenhagen (Denmark), Edinburgh (Scotland), Krakow (Poland) and Nuremberg (Germany). And also one weekly flight to Tenerife (Spain).

Additional flights to Luxembourg six times a week, and to Rome Ciampino (Italy) with three weekly flights were also announced by O'Leary.

With 42 routes from Porto in 2017, Ryanair forecasts transporting four million passengers, resulting in a 14% increase in this city.

According to Michael O'Leary, Porto remains "one of the fastest growing destinations in Europe".

To celebrate the launch of Porto 2017 winter schedule, Ryanair is releasing seats for sale from Porto to several European destinations from just €9.99, which are available for booking until midnight Thursday (23 Feb).
