Seventh edition of Porta-Jazz Festival returns to the Rivoli stage on December 7 and 8

The Porta Jazz Festival, one of the highlights of the city's jazz program, returns to Porto on 7 and 8 December for its seventh edition.

The program includes 11 concerts at the Teatro Rivoli, involving about 60 musicians, 20 of which are foreign. This year there will also be a parallel program (+ Bonus!), With several workshops and concerts: at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto, on November 30, with Abe Rábade Trio; in Passos Manuel, on 6 December, with Mario Santos "Block A4" feat. Nguyên Le; and a jazz schools meeting at the Porto Music Conservatory on December 4.

Rivoli will be the host of the festival for two days, with afternoon concerts where the public and the community of musicians intersect in a festive atmosphere.

Some of the latest projects edited by Carimbo Porta-Jazz will be featured, as well as new creations commissioned from national and European musicians to showcase what is currently happening in this music genre: Mané Fernandes Invites Nick Jurd & Edward Richardson; Demian Cabaud Invites Jeff Williams, Albert Bover, Miguel Fernandez and Gonçalo Marques; Coreto + Torbjorn Zetterberg.

Over six years of existence, the Porta-Jazz Association held more than 500 concerts, released 28 discographic editions, through its publishing project - carimbo Porta Jazz, held numerous artist residencies and workshops, in addition to producing content for its online radio, Youtube channel and the program broadcasted three times a week on Channel 180.

Much of this activity takes place in a permanent residence space, which allowed the association to become a pole of convergence for both musicians and interested public.
