Splash Innovation Stage application deadline is 29 May

The 4th EIP Water Conference 2017, to be held in Porto, Portugal this coming September includes a pitch competition, the Splash Innovation Stage, aimed at startups that have been incorporated for less than 5 years and have innovative water related business projects that are at least in the prototype phase (Minimum Viable Product), with a high innovative component and that demonstrate significant impact in the water sector.

Splash Innovation Stage deadline application is 29 May, and there is a good chance you'll win up to €12.000.

A Pool of Needs is currently open and looking for inputs from water utilities and industrial and agriculture end-user companies. Applicants can look into this pool, which will be receiving inputs until 14th May 2017, to match their solutions to the needs and challenges shared by potential customers and investors.

The most promising candidates will be selected and invited to pitch their projects. Finalists will be announced here on 31st July 2017.

Finalists will be required to attend a 2-day Communication Workshop on 25th and 26th September. This workshop is free of charge and mandatory, as it consists of intensive training sessions to prepare the final pitch presentation. Finalists will also be invited to attend an optional 5-day Acceleration Programme, between 18th and 22nd September 2017. Both initiatives are free of charge and powered by UPTEC - Science and Technology Park of the University of Porto.

This competition will take place on 27th September 2017 at Alfândega Porto Congress Centre and is organised by the Municipality of Porto with the support of EIP Water and powered by UPTEC - Science and Technology Park of the University of Porto and Isle Utilities.

The City of Porto, in Portugal, will be the European capital of water and innovation, hosting three major events that will gather over 800 participants, including decision makers and technicians of utilities, political leaders, regulators, industry and agriculture representatives, investigators, tech companies, startups, SME's, investors, and young professionals. 

These events will be hosted by the Municipality of Porto, with the institutional support of European Commission and the Government of Portugal.
