Startup accelerator applications in Porto are now open

The National Association of Young Entrepreneurs and INESC TEC have teamed up to create the first startup accelerator in Porto.

This cohort-based programme will start in Porto, with the support of Amazon and Microsoft, and later it will move to Silicon Valley.

Startup Porto Accelerator features two editions, one in April and another in May. Applications for the first phase are now open, and will close on February 10.

In this first phase, the 20 best projects will be chosen and each candidate will have the opportunity to show their skills during a 16-hour workshop.

A team from ANJE and INESC TEC will then select the 10 best ideas that will move to the seven week acceleration phase of the programme.

Candidates will showcase their projects - already consolidated - to a panel of potential investors.

In the final stage of the startup accelerator programme, startups will travel to Silicon Valley, San Francisco, the leading high-tech research and enterprises ecosystem in the world.

A prize of 17,000 euros was assigned to each of the 10 startups created throughout the programme.
