Startup incubated at UPTEC authors rehabilitation project included in the 100 best houses in the world in 2018

"An exciting year for architecture with a selection in a typology near and dear to us all: houses", as ArchDaily puts it, a weblog on architectural news, projects, products, events, interviews and competitions, opinion pieces, among others, to refer to the selection of the 100 best houses in the world. 

The rehabilitation project by CREA, an architect studio in Porto, of the Casa Heróis de África, in Leça da Palmeira makes the top 100 best houses in 2018, by ArchDaily.

CREA architect studios was incubated in UPTEC - Science and Technology Park in Porto, by architects André Camelo and Miguel Ribeiro, who graduated at the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Porto (FAUP) and Tânia Fernandes, Porto Business School alumna. Their core business is the provision of technical consultancy services, architecture services, and procurement in the field of building stock refitting and building regeneration.

The Casa Heróis de África dates from the 1930's and has undergone an extensive rehabilitation process, resulting in additional living space and a renovated family home, combining the old and new elements.

Besides being selected to the top 100 Best Houses by ArchDaily, among thousands of applications, the CREA Studio was invited to publish its work on the Casa Heróis de África in the American Institute of Architects Journal.
