Tickets for the flights Porto-Brussels are already commercially available at TAP, and they will be resumed on 1 July.

Besides this announced flight, the Portuguese Flagship Company will launch new routes for the summer 2019, namely the Lyon and Munich routes as of September and the strengthening of the Porto-Madrid and the Porto-New York links as well.

Last September, Antonoaldo Neves, TAP Chief Executive had already stated that there would be "substancial strenghning" in the airliner's routes from and to Porto. Thus, TAP strategy regarding the city of Porto appears to be shifting, after the airliner had removed routes in 2015. The company is majority State owned and following the previous decision of services reduction from Porto Airport, the new administration intends to reverse this strategy and has announced new routes, starting this year.

Flight schedules and tickets are now available as "passenger traffic in Porto Airport is up for yet another year" as well as frequencies and operational costs that enable TAP to achieve a competitive advantage as compared to other airliners.

As of July 2019, Porto Airport will have two direct links to Brussels. In September, TAP Porto codeshare expands to Lyon, with two daily flights. That very month, TAP starts Porto-Munich link, one frequency per day.

Besides the new routes, it should be highlighted the increase of weekly flight frequencies to New York and Madrid. TAP triples the number of flights to the Big Apple, moving forward to six weekly flights.

According to the Portuguese airliner, "this is the biggest flight offer ever in Porto Airport", with over three million passengers per week, this year alone.

For the first time, Porto Airport reached the 11,939 million passenger mark for the year 2018, which is an increase of 10.7% compared to 2017. This record is expected to be broken this year, again!
