The best city to work remotely is Porto

Features such as internet speed, cybersecurity, availability and cost of accommodation or tourist attractiveness make Porto the best city in the world to work remotely. The study is by the travel platform Culture Trip, which evaluated a total of 60 cities.

Being a British company, Culture Trip also included the distance to London as a factor to consider, in a list that also gives importance to the number of hours of sun, the existence of green spaces or the price of a cappuccino and public transport.

In the end, Porto reached a score of 3,975, appearing as the best city for remote workers, ahead of Valencia, Barcelona, Lyon, Lisbon, Naples, Marseille, Paris, Milan and Madrid.

“Any country's second-fastest internet speed and a solid assessment of cybersecurity make it a suitable city for remote work.” In addition, “the city has immense green space and an extensive selection of accommodations.”

And, Culture Trip adds, “when your work is done, Porto also has 11 five-star tourist attractions” per square kilometre, offering “a good balance between work and leisure”.
