Porto promotes once again happiness in the workplace with the organization of Happiness Camp. The purpose is to promote the “learning of skills and techniques for human sustainability” next to companies and employers. The second edition of the conference dedicated to corporate happiness hopes to bring together 6 million people from 12 countries in Alfândega, on the 14th of September.

Companies, professionals, students, tourists, or any others with interest in the theme can get together to share knowledge and the best practices, to raise awareness and to create a support community.

“The Happiness Camp was designed with the purpose of making our country one of the happiest to work and live in. Through this event, we want to equip people with better practices to create work environments that are happier and healthier”, the founder of the initiative, which is promoted by Lionesa Business Hub, says.

António Pedro Pinto states that the event, counting with more than 50 partners, among them Porto City Hall, hopes to make “happiness accessible to all” and, because of that, participation is free (requiring only registration). “More than just participating in the event, we want to show Porto as the happiest city of Europe to work and live in”, he adds.

The organisation team highlights the presence of Jessica White, responsible for the social impact of LinkedIn, Danny Robinson, creative director of The Martin Agency, Neil Morrison, responsible for the human resources of Staffbase, Walter Susini, vice-president of the marketing area of Coca Cola, or Sunaina Kohli, responsible for diversity, equity, and inclusion at Asos.

In total, there will be two dozen speakers that will “explore happiness from a holistic perspective, encompassing leadership, organizational culture and diversity, equity and inclusion”, but also “focus on niche themes like ergonomics in the office, physical activity as a stimulant of well-being and the role of art and culture in the promotion of personal happiness”.

More than words, the Happiness Camp will introduce in Porto the “Dopamine Hub”, a “sensorial path of artistic interventions which hopes to stimulate the production of dopamine in the participants”. The concept is a novelty in Portugal, but quite popular in cities like London or New York.
