Similarly to last year, Teatro Rivoli witnessed, on Tuesday’s afternoon, the start of another QSP Summit. The initiative, that gathers, in Exponor, around 70 speakers who are leaders of management and marketing all around the world and more than three thousand participants, will take place until Thursday under the theme “Shaping The Future Leadership”.

“Companies and institutions need to adopt a solid management, that allows them to grow in a highly competitive environment, in constant mutation and with increasingly complex challenges”, the vice-mayor of Porto City Hall stated, in the opening session.

Filipe Araújo stressed that “facing the volatile and uncertain reality”, translated in “disruptive developments” such as the pandemic or the invasion of Ukraine, “the organisations have to be more efficient, make informed decisions, optimise resources and know how to adapt to change”.

The politician defended that “the business fabric has to continue to bet significantly in the strengthening of management quality and in an increasing adaptation”.

“The much needed and imperative climate transition, the energy transition that must be operated and the new paradigms associated with the digital sphere will be determinant in the resilience of organisations and in their ability to continue to thrive, but more sustainably, in their contribution to creating value, to reinforce competitiveness and to grow their business”, Filipe Araújo reinforces.

Believing that “in this level, inspiring leaderships that are able to lead by example will make a difference”, the councillor for Environment and Climate Transition of the Municipality highlights the relevance of events such as QSP Summit in order for “us to have capable leaders in every level, which demands a constant updating of knowledge and technics”.

As for the vice-mayor of Porto City Hall, the summit has the ability to generate “a fruitful dynamic of sharing knowledge, debating ideas, and professional networking”.

A conference to grow even better

Just like in the opening ceremony in Rivoli, that had the performance of the pianist Mário Laginha, the Secretary of State for Tourism, Commerce and Services, Nuno Fazenda, considered that the QSP Summit is “an event that helps us grow even better”, given its role in knowledge.

In Porto, the representative figure of the Government highlighted the work of a city’s icon, Clérigos, as “an exemplar project in that which is the preservation of heritage, culture, sustainability, social inclusion and solidarity”.

“We want to continue to grow authentically and sustainably”, Nuno Fazenda added, referring the country’s growth, not only economically, but in a tourist and climate action level.

In the start of the two days filled with lectures from around 70 speakers and expecting more than 3.200 participants, the Secretary of State stressed “Portugal’s ability to organise events of great national and international impact”.

As for Rui Ribeiro, director of QSP Summit, he highlighted the “high potential for growth” of the event, with the hope that, in the next edition “reinforce the commitment in capturing European managers and also from the Portuguese market”. “This is an event that distinguishes Portugal”, the director believes, taking on the ambition that guided this organisation.

The session in Rivoli ended with an intervention from John Bercow, former president of the House of Commons in the United Kingdom and one of the most charismatic British politicians, that came to Porto to share his view on “Leading by Example”.
