The Art of Urban sketching or the bold and spontaneous strokes of Porto

The "family photo" taken at Avenida dos Aliados, in front of the City Hall, on 21st July, marks the end of the International Urban Sketchers 9th Symposium, an event that brought together 800 sketchers of 46 different nationalities, background and age group to Porto.

The last day of this symposium was devoted to sharing drawings and sketches, featuring the bold, quick, and spontaneous strokes that each sketcher captured in the city of Porto, for four days.

This event is all about drawing on location; sketchers travel all around the world and capture the city's liveliness, be it people, buildings or monuments.

It is "telling a story" one sketch at a time, and the next "blank page" or the 10th International Urban Sketchers Symposium will be filled in Amsterdam, hosted by Urban Sketchers Netherlands, in 2019.
