Look beyond the chain restaurants to explore the best of Porto's food scene. This is the tastiest place in town if one wishes to have the best hot dog meal ever. It sits on Travessa Cimo de Vila since 1962, in Porto, and they made it to the shorlist of The World Restaurant Awards.

This is where Anthony Bourdain had the cachorrinhos (Yes, he was here!), all the more reason to have a go at the hot dogs with a spicy sauce and cheese.

Cervejaria Gazela (Hot Dogs), in Porto, is listed to representing Portugal in Paris next month in "The World Restaurant Awards", standing out in the category of serving a particular dish.

The prestigious "The World Restaurant Awards" are here to blur boundaries when it comes to cuisine as they were "designed to celebrate restaurants as culture" as if they were films, art or music, with the aim of "reflecting the true range and diversity of the international restaurant scene".

Food writers and gourmets Joe Warwick and Andrea Petrini organise this truly delectable and fabulous awards, jointly with Fine Dining Lovers, which will be held in Paris, on 18 February 2019.
